About Dunce Dynamics

Dunce Dynamics starts with the things people notice, question, tolerate, argue about, or quietly wonder about every day.

Why does the smoke detector always wait until 2 AM? Why do dogs tilt their heads? Why does self-checkout somehow turn buying groceries into an unpaid internship?

Those questions are the starting point.

Dunce Dynamics explores the overlooked questions, behaviors, frustrations, contradictions, systems, and absurdities of ordinary life — then treats them with far more seriousness than they probably deserve.

The goal is simple: make something entertaining, discover something real, and leave you noticing everyday life a little differently than you did before.

What we make

The original Dunce Dynamics format is question-driven: a real answer, an observational take, and a visual interpretation of something people have probably wondered about but rarely stopped to examine.

That is still part of what we do, but it is no longer the whole thing.

Dunce Dynamics is growing into a broader collection of comedy, curiosity-driven entertainment, research-themed articles, experiments, comics, recurring ideas, and original properties built around one basic habit:

Notice what everyone else has stopped noticing.

Some ideas need a short answer. Some deserve an article. Some may turn into a study, a video, a comic, a game, or something we have not figured out yet.

The Dunce Dynamics Institute

The Dunce Dynamics Institute is our research-themed way of examining ordinary life with unnecessary institutional seriousness.

Institute Articles take familiar behaviors, systems, objects, and everyday experiences and examine what is actually happening underneath them. The work may use research, observation, public sources, and humor, but factual claims and the joke are not supposed to become the same thing.

The Institute is part of the Dunce Dynamics creative world and public presentation. It is not an academic institution, government agency, regulatory body, or scientific authority.

It just has considerably more paperwork than the questions probably require.

The rules

Curiosity comes first.

We laugh at shared human behavior, not at people for asking questions. The point is recognition: that moment when something ridiculous becomes funny because everyone realizes they do it too.

Facts should remain facts. Satire should remain recognizable as satire. Uncertainty should not be disguised as certainty.

And when a subject deserves seriousness instead of a joke, we treat it that way.

Why Dunce Dynamics exists

Ordinary life is full of things people barely notice because they have seen them a thousand times.

Those are usually the interesting parts.

Dunce Dynamics exists to look closer — to turn confusion, curiosity, frustration, and everyday human behavior into something useful, funny, surprising, or memorable.

Sometimes all four.
